ANDREW REID was brought up in East Suffolk and has lived in the area with his wife Clare and three children for over 20 years. His background is in financial services and risk management and he now owns and runs local businesses.
He's been the county councillor for the Wilford Division since a by-election in 2011. He was re-elected in 2013, 2017, and most recently in May 2021. As a member of the Suffolk County Council Cabinet, he served in the last Council with responsibility for the Roads and Transport portfolio. Through his Locality and Highways budget, he has been a keen funder and supporter of community-led initiatives, especially road safety, environmental projects and encouraging local activities for young people.
Says Andrew: “One of my key priorities for the Wilford division is to work with the Government, EDF and local groups for the completion of the Suffolk Energy Gateway (SEGWAY), which is the four villages bypass around Marlesford, Little Glemham, Stratford St Andrew and Farnham. It is important that we get the infrastructure improvements to cope with the expansion on Sizewell and I will be a strong voice for residents on this issue.”
“I’m glad to see that the Conservative led County Council is committed to road resurfacing, I am keen to work with all the parishes in the division to improve the condition of the roads as much as possible.”
