Michael was born and raised in Felixstowe and has been interested in politics from an early age, first getting involved with the UK Youth Parliament as the Member for Suffolk Coastal. Michael soon became an Association Officer and the Chairman of Suffolk Coastal's Conservative Future Branch before heading off to Portsmouth University to study politics where he founded the University’s Conservative Association, and became a Campaign Manager for the City Council elections.
After University, Michael was accepted into Sandhurst to train to be an Officer in the Household Cavalry but sadly he was unable to start as he developed a rare condition that left him needing crutches for almost two years. Despite his limited mobility Michael was recruited in the new intake of Conservative Campaign Managers and was sent by the Party to work in North Wales where he spent a year working with the MP's and Associations. Michael then moved to Nottinghamshire before returning to Suffolk Coastal and his hometown of Felixstowe.
