MICHAEL LADD is married with two grown-up children. Having lived and worked in this part of Suffolk all his life, he believes has a strong sense of what people want from the place where they live, work and play.
 
A parish councillor since 1990, he was formerly a Cabinet Member at Waveney District Council, with special responsibility for supporting the Waveney Youth Council which has worked with the County Council  to introduce a discounted travel card for young people.

Michael was first elected to the County Council in 2013, and re-elected in 2017 and 2021.  He was appointed Chairman of the County Council for the Civic Year 2018/2019, during which time he raised funds for, and awareness of, the work that Suffolk Artlink does in the County.
